At the start, around 1980, our founders wanted a name and logo making clear that Ecover products are ecological and based on natural ingredients. The ’80s were characterized by a first green wave. The terms ecology and sustainability were used more frequently. ECO refers to ecology and VER to the French word ‘vert’ which means ‘green’. The blue and green colors were deliberately chosen because they are natural colors. Blue refers to water. Ecover wants to minimise the impact of its products on aquatic life as much as possible. Green refers to nature. In everything we do, we respect the environment. Our name and logo show that Ecover considers the environment as an integral part of the economy.
