We all want to do better. Whether that’s use less plastic, compost food waste or get into the refill habit. With the best intentions in the world, there’s one little matter that often gets in our way. Grey matter. Our brain. Our memory. Our…what was it again? So we approached seven awesome artists and illustrators with a single-minded task – remind people to refill.

We’ve been championing the humble refill since 1989. When Jason Donovan had a record six singles in the top 10, we (rather unfashionably) started encouraging people to reuse and refill their cleaning containers. Even back then we could see that plastic should be used more than once. It’s durable stuff. After all, it takes around 450 years to break down in landfill. So we believe the most durable bottle, bag, tub or coffee cup is the one you already own.

But how to remember to take them out with you? Cue a creative experiment. We teamed up with seven artists and illustrators who are all passionate about sustainability and climate change. We had one specific ask – remind people to refill. Creativity is a powerful force and we want to see if it can help people remember to refill and ultimately create a valuable new habit.
