Pre Race Day, Ecover’s Environmental Boat Wash a Success! [ 30-04-2009 ]
LONG BEACH, CA (April 29, 2009) – Ecover, the ecological detergent manufacturer whose slogan is “does the dishes, not the fishes” led sailors into race day with a successful environmental boat washing demonstration last Thursday at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club, in Newport Beach, CA.
Brand ambassadors, and novice boat washers, Christy Clark, Corrine Costello and Michelle Lang, took up pails of water and bamboo wash rags to swab the decks of Tom Rasulo’s “Genty Lee” to show the more than 275 docked yachtsmen that Ecover’s Boat Wash & Wax is every bit effective as it is ecological. As part of the promotion, each of the officially registered skippers received complimentary bottles of Ecover Boat Wash & Wax.
“Having Ecover at the Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club to help us demonstrate our commitment to a clean harbor was really great. The timing was good as we had so many guest Yachts that day to begin the Newport to Ensenada Race. Each year the BCYC hosts the pre-race party with a few thousand party goers looking out over our beautiful marina. My wife Karen and I were proud of how clean our boat as it was in plain view but more than that how your staff was able to clean it without any negative impact to sea life or our precious and pristine Newport Harbor. The BCYC thanks and salutes Ecover for their commitment to the environment and for developing a terrific product.” said Tom Rasulo, Director/Membership Chair, Bahia Corinthian Yacht Club.
New Ecover Boat Wash and Wax is phosphate-free and made from plant-based and mineral ingredients including coconut-based surfactants, carnauba wax, and citric acid, to naturally remove dirt, oil and grease. Boat Wash & Wax leaves behind a protective plant-based wax coating.
As with all Ecover products, Ecover Boat Wash & Wax quickly and completely biodegrades with minimum impact on aquatic environments.
Even Ecover bottles and labels leave a lighter carbon footprint and are made of polyethylene; cap of polypropylene. Polyethylene and polypropylene are 100% recyclable and can be recycled together using a low energy process.
