Energy Consumption

We operate entirely on green electricity which is supplied to us and obtained from powerful natural sources such as wind and tidal generators and then fed into the grid via meters. That means a small part of the electricity you use at home is also green. We pay a bit more for this but it's worth knowing we're not sucking the grid of energy to make our products. Our contribution enable our electricity supplier to purchase "green electricity" certificates, which are used to make investments in the green sector.

Waste Prevention

We concern ourselves with our suppliers' packing as well (eco busy bodies!). Care is taken to ensure that all packing used by our material suppliers is kept to a minimum and can be recycled (cardboard, plastic wrappers) or reused (1,756lbs. bags are reused in-house and metal or plastic barrels can be refilled).

Large outer boxes which transport our empty bottles, for example, have been taken back by the supplier since 1987; the boxes are reused until they break. It is not unusual to find boxes in the factory that have the return trip 14 times or more!
