Improved formula Ecover Liquid laundry detergent

Ecover is always looking for new, high-performance ecological ingredients to improve its products. We are proud to be able to present our improved formula for Ecover Liquid Laundry Detergent, which results from using ‘advanced new ingredients’.

This improvement was achieved by using a new detergent agent derived from vegetable sources. It is made from rapeseed oil (not GMO), and one of its advantages is that it generates very little foam. Foam is detrimental to the washing process and can cause up to 50% of the washing power to be lost. Conventional laundry powders contain substances such as silicones to control foaming, but Ecover naturally prefers not to use such environmentally risky substances.

The low-foaming rapeseed-oil detergent can now be combined with a high-foaming sugar detergent, which is one of the best ingredients currently available in terms of environmental impact and washing effectiveness. That yields a liquid laundry detergent with superior cleaning properties, low foam and outstanding ecological properties. The toxicity to aquatic organisms of our improved formula is *ten times lower* on average than the toxicity of conventional liquid laundry detergents.
