Packaging

Ecover tries to use as little packaging material as possible for its products. We also try to ensure that our packaging is reused and all packaging during the waste phase has to be easy to recycle. Ecover do not produce refill pouches because the materials used for these is more damaging to the environment and is not as biodegradable as the plastic used in our standard bottles.

Ecover plastic bottles are made from polyethylene and the caps are made from polypropylene. Polyethylene is considered to be the second best choice after bioplastics, not yet available in a sufficiently resistent quality. Both are 100% recyclable and can be recycled together where facilities exist.
