Like others, Ecover discovered that a ‘paper-free' office is unfeasible but Ecover nevertheless works primarily with computer files. External data carriers (press releases, advertisements, designs) are scanned in and distributed electronically whenever possible. Unavoidable print-outs, faxes, copies and letter heads, business cards, leaflets and brochures are printed solely on recycled paper, using vegetable ink if at all possible. Failed print-outs are used as scrap paper. Presentations to customers or at internal meetings are not printed out on plastic overhead projector slides but are projected directly from the computer.
We also encourage our suppliers to take any action that prevents or limits packaging, and to select the materials used with a view to preventing unnecessary pollution of the environment. In our factory, nothing gets thrown away if it can still be recycled in one way or another. And we obviously try to avoid products with a low concentration of active ingredients whenever possible.
Printed materials used for our marketing activities are printed on recycled or sustainably sourced paper and sourced from Responsible Print, which guarantees the printed item has been produced in the most sustainable way possible. Read more about Responsible Print and our printers here.
