The raw materials for Ecover products are based on vegetable and mineral resources, which have two major advantages:
- They are renewable. That means they can be grown again or replenished and are inexhaustible.
- They offer an unlimited range of possibilities. Even the plastics used by Ecover are derived from vegetable materials.
By using renewable sources of materials, Ecover avoids creating environmental burdens and health burdens.
By contrast, conventional detergents and cleansing agents use raw materials made from petroleum. Petroleum is a non-renewable resource that has practically been used up, and the extraction, processing and use of petroleum imposes an unacceptable burden on the environment.
